This video is a short documentary on the field research at ‘Boka Ascension’, a sea inlet on the north side of the island of Curaçao in June 2019. Due to the ocean currents most of the local sargassum fields end up in this area where it decomposes, developing a nauseating smell of rotten eggs, killing maritime sea life and making some nearby homes uninhabitable.
